Bridges and Roads’ work on the NTE Segments 3 project in Fort Worth, Texas, is progressing rapidly toward completion. In Segment 3A, Phase 1 construction has been completed in the IH 820 / Mark IV Parkway area, and 4 bridges are now open to traffic. Construction of Phase 2 has already begun. At the same time, the 3 direct connectors between IH 820 and IH 35W and the U-turn bridge at NE 28th Street are nearing completion, with most of the concrete deck slabs already poured. On Segment 3C, substructure work on the IH 35W / SH 170 direct connectors is progressing smoothly and on schedule. At this point, 40% of the substructure has been completed. Girders have already been installed on 8 spans of bridge 106.1 and superstructure work has started.

Grupo Puentes awarded a € 23.4 million contract in the US

Bridges and Roads (BARC), a subsidiary of Grupo Puentes in the US, has been awarded a project to improve the RM 620 highway in Williamson County, Texas.

The project spans 1.5 kilometers as it passes through the city of Round Rock. Among other works, the elevation of existing interchanges and passages stands out, among them, that of the railway.

2019 has started with the first award for Grupo Puentes in the US (a country where it already had a presence as a subcontractor), which reinforces its image and positioning as a benchmark company in the sector.

In February the contracting administration, Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), awarded the project to Grupo Puentes for an amount of $ 25.4 million. It’s a work to widen the IH-35 highway over 5 km, by which the traffic and service lanes of the Comal highway (San Antonio) are expanded from 10 to 12 traffic lanes. In addition, the entrance and exit ramps are reconfigured, relocating all of them. The execution period is 16 months.

Grupo Puentes, through its US subsidiary Bridges & Roads LLC -BARC-, has signed 3 contracts with North Tarrant Infrastructure LLC for the construction of 16 carriageway structures on the North Tarrant Express (NTE) highway in Texas.

The awarded work is framed in the Segment 3A of the NTE project, between the cities of Fort Worth and Denton. The highway is 21.4 km long and has carriageways of variable width between 28 and 90 feet. In addition to the 16 bridges, Bridges and Roads will build several mechanical stabilized earth walls and perform different types of earth works.

Award of five carriageway structures in Texas, USA

Grupo Puentes, through its US subsidiary Bridges & Roads LLC -BARC-, has signed a contract with North Tarrant Infrastructure LLC for the construction of five carriageway structures on the North Tarrant Express (NTE) highway in Texas.

The awarded work is framed in the North segment (AP1) of the NTE, between the city of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. The highway is 21.4 km long and has carriageways of variable width between 28 and 52 feet.

The amount of the contract is $ 3,950,538 (€ 3.05M).

Award of 15 carriageway structures in Florida, USA

Bridges & Roads L.L.C., a subsidiary of Grupo Puentes in the USA, has signed a contract with Dragados USA for the construction of 15 road structures within the SR23 State Toll Road, in the State of Florida.

SR23, known as the First Coast Expressway, is a 4-lane bypass that serves the southwest of the city of Jacksonville, in Dual County.

The amount of the contract amounts to $ 5,741,818 (€ 4.3 million).

Award in Dallas, USA

Bridges and Roads, a subsidiary of the Puentes Group in the US, has signed a large precast contract in Texas (Precast Factory for Inverted T Caps) for the expansion works of the LBJ Highway (Lyndon B. Johnson), which Trinity Infrastructure LLC. company belonging to Ferrovial, has been carrying out for months.

In this way, the assembly of the first factory for the production of heavy elements for civil works is started, for which one of the mobile factories that the group has in our country will be moved from Spain.

Prior to this, the subsidiary was already executing the “in-situ” work “Lot of Structures RFP-89 (WB) at the IH-635 works” in the city of Dallas.
